The LMR program annual report provides an overview of the program’s mission, history and process, updates on all of the projects we oversee and a list of the publications that became available during the year.
During 2020, the principal investigators and program staff persevered in the face of the COVID pandemic and made notable progress on almost all projects. Of the 27 projects on the books in 2020, four were completed, two new projects were initiated and 21 were ongoing by the end of the year. These projects are critical to ensuring the Navy can meet its environmental compliance needs and maintain training. The report also presents information on the important partnership efforts that provide enormous value.
In several projects, when the PIs could not get out into the field for data collection, they productively redirected their efforts to analysis of existing data. Many of the results are presented in the 19 professional publications issued through the year. These are listed in the LMR Publications section near the end of the report. A comprehensive list of publications is now available in a spreadsheet on our website, under the Publication tab. The spreadsheet is updated quarterly and can be downloaded.
We remain focused on our fundamental mission to support the Navy’s ability to conduct uninterrupted at-sea training and testing, which preserves core Navy readiness capabilities.
Sincerely,
Anu Kumar
LMR Program Manager
