Message from the LMR Program Manager
"We are happy to share with you our most recent annual report, U.S. Navy’s Living Marine Resources Program Report 2019. Our annual reports provide an overview of the LMR program’s mission, history and process, updates on all of the projects we oversee and a list of the publications that became available during the year.
For 2019, we had seven completed projects, eight new projects and 18 ongoing projects. These projects are critical to ensuring the Navy can meet its environmental compliance needs and maintain training. The report also presents information on the important partnership efforts that provide enormous value.
As with so many other activities around the country and the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected how the LMR program is working. Working from home and cancelled field efforts have delayed progress on some projects, however the whole LMR program team, especially the great scientists and engineers who work with us, are persevering and getting things done. Just as these professionals all adapt to unexpected events in the field, they are finding new ways to accomplish their tasks.
We remain focused on our fundamental mission to support the Navy’s ability to conduct uninterrupted at-sea training and testing, which preserves core Navy readiness capabilities.
Sincerely,
Anu Kumar
LMR Program Manager
